The play features a group of southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor, encountering all the glories of true friendship. Both hilarious and touching, this piece reveals the deep strength and purposefulness which underlies the charming banter of its characters.

The action is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are anybody come to have their hair done. You'll come to love all the characters:

• M’Lynn, mother of the bride and the town social worker
• Annelle, Truvy's eager new assistant
• Miss Clairee, widow of the former mayor, an eccentric millionaire
